Most Gracious Heavenly Father, creator of all and sustainer of all, we come before you humbly today and ask for your mercy for all those families that have been touched by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. We ask for courage as they face a time of uncertainty. We ask for a spirit of generosity when we consider how we might help. We pray for all the emergency responders, doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel who are there, ready and willing to assist, that you would give them energy, wisdom, and understanding as they minister to those who are in need.
In your unending mercy, we ask that you would grant peace to those who feel overwhelmed, strength to those who feel week, companionship to those who feel lost and alone, and hope to those who feel despair. May the leaders who have the ability to step in and help have the courage and will to do so. As only You can, we pray that you bring beauty from the ashes of this difficulty, and we pray that even this would be used to bring people to a saving knowledge of your love and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
