The Loss of Meaning: Becoming Like What We Worship

Idolatry fuels a loss of meaning. We become virtually “lifeless.” It can be felt as despondency or “there is no wind in my sails.” If we worship idols, we will become like the idols, and that likeness will drain and ruin us.  You will become as lifeless as the idols you worship. That is the judgment for idolatry. People are punished by the means of their own sin.
