Joy’s Hunger and Thirst
When I hunger for “bread”, tasting elusive joy
Take me to a quaint lunch happily to enjoy.
When my spirit is dry as the hot desert air
Give me living water to quench my soul’s sad cares.
When I feel the anguish of Your separation
Let me find joy in hope, longing for connection.
When unslakeable thirst meets Your presence, not felt,
Yet, make me thirstier, for when Your absence unfelt.
