Women’s Day Out – “What’s Cookin’?!”
Saturday, February 23, 2019, 3-6 p.m. at PCI in Room 101
Get your culinary creative juices flowing, invite a friend, and join us for a wild and crazy afternoon of cooking, followed by a delicious dinner featuring your customized creations!!!
Similar to the cooking show, “Chopped,” each cooking team will receive a random assortment of ingredients and will be required to create an appetizer, main dish, and dessert, within a specific time constraint, using all of the ingredients provided. A “pantry” of basic spices and staples (i.e. oil, flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and bread) will be provided.
Each person needs to bring 4 ingredients in the following categories, hidden in a brown paper bag:
- protein (i.e. meat, cheese, tofu, beans, etc.)
- fruit or vegetable
- starch (i.e. rice, pasta, potatoes, etc.)
- “curveball” ingredient (can be any of the above, or something you might not use in everyday cooking, such as a candy bar, edible essential oil, nuts or nut butter, sauce (i.e. oyster or bbq), potato chips, cereal, condensed milk, coffee beans, etc.)
Ingredients can be fresh, frozen, or canned, but PLEASE make sure they are new, unopened, and not expired. (This is not the opportunity to clean out your pantry!)
PLEASE HELP us out with some needed appliances/gadgets/supplies… Sign up here.
No need to RSVP unless you need childcare. PLEASE RSVP FOR CHILDCARE TO [email protected] BY FEB. 16.
