With Mother’s Day right behind us I thought I’d share a few of my favorite insights on Biblical Femininity. I love the fact that God chose women to display some of his characteristics in such unique ways.The way this plays out looks very different depending on who you are and even your season of life. But we are all able to be reflections of God through the way he designed us. The characteristic of God that I see so clearly in women and mothers is his nurturing character. There are so many verses that tell us of God’s nurture and care for us. Matthew 6:31-32 says “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek first the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Through these verses we see that as we are trusting God, his nurturing nature will provide everything we need in that season. As women and image bearers, we are able to nurture those he has placed in our lives. Whether our children, family, friends, coworkers… whoever it is, we are able to be life-giving, strength building individuals, helping them find their God-given calling. So in humility, let’s pray that God will use us in this way. How have you seen God use the women in your life to nurture you spiritually or physically? And how are you allowing Him to use you to nurture those in your life?
