There are TWO kinds of emptiness.
1. The one we normally think of occurs naturally due to our continued futile attempts to fill ourselves with something other than God as our highest priority.
1 Peter 1:18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers…
2. The second kind of emptiness is meant to be there! It is meant to propel you toward God as your highest priority.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger (in response to emptiness) and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled.
The first kind of emptiness requires repentance to get back on the narrow road.
The second kind of emptiness is God’s invitation to seek Him and His kingdom as your highest priority.
I have to recall this about a dozen times, EVERY DAY, and at my age I’m likely to continue to do it at least that much!
